Who Tong

Designed for the Way People Actually Split Bills
Because splitting bills is rarely equal, almost never simple.
"How much do I owe you again?"
— My 67th friend after I paid for his 8th meal.
It wasn't the payment that caught my attention but it was everything that came after. Friends constantly asked, "Have I paid you?" or "How much do I still owe?" Without a dedicated way to track shared expenses, people resorted to messages, spreadsheets, or memory. The real opportunity wasn't another bill-splitting app, but a better way to manage shared debt over time.

Can We Win the First Five Seconds?
Help Users Know What Matters First
When users open the app, they aren't looking for every detail.
They're trying to answer three questions:
Who owes me?
Who do I owe?
What needs my attention?
Initially, I assumed showing more information would help users make faster decisions. But testing proved otherwise.
People don't read, they scan.
